DIY Pizza for Dogs

It’s time to make some DIY Pizza for dogs!  This is something you guys have been asking us to do for a very long time!

DIY Pizza for Dogs  Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Toppings for the Pizza
  • Low fat Mozzerlla cheese
  • 2 boiled mashed beets
  • 2 Turkey Hot Dogs
  • 1 Sliced Green pepper
  • 1 small jar anchovies

Directions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl mix together flour, oregano, parsley, and basil.  Whisk the dry ingredients together.  Make a well in the middle, add the egg, and then slowly add the chicken broth. Mix the dough together until it is slightly sticky.  Spray a pizza pan with a non-stick spray and then press your dough into the pan.

For the sauce, I used boiled mashed beets.  To make these, you need to wash your beets (do not slice them), place them in cold water, bring it to a boil, and boil for 45 minutes.  After that I cut off the tops and then mashed the beets with a potato masher. Spoon this mixture onto your pizza dough as your sauce.

Now it’s time to add your toppings!  You can really add whatever you would like to the pizza as long as the items are safe for your dog!  If you aren’t sure, call your vet and ask!  We used chopped up turkey hot dogs, green peppers, and anchovies!

Bake your pizza for about 18 – 20 minutes.  The crust should turn light brown on the edges, and the cheese should just start to brown.  My crust turned out a bit more crumbly then I had wanted, so hopefully yours turns out a bit better.  Mine ended up being to dry, but the dogs didn’t seem to care at all!

Taste test time

Now it’s time for your dogs to try the pizza!  This entire treat only took me about 30 minutes to make! Next time I will make a pizza for us as well!  The leftover slices can be stored in the fridge for up to 7 days, or you can freeze them for up to 3 months.  DIY Pizza for Dogs
